Salaar: Prashanth Neel opens up on his dissatisfaction over the Prabhas starrer; ‘I am not completely happy with results’
As Prabhas' Salaar Part 1-Ceasefire completes one year of its release, filmmaker Prashanth Neel reflects on the aspects he could have improved in the film.
It has been a year since Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran's Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire hit the big screens. Directed by hitmaker Prashanth Neel, the film became one of the biggest blockbusters of the year, grossing over ₹700 crore at the box office. Despite becoming a fan-favorite action film in 2023, filmmaker Prashanth Neel still seems dissatisfied with its theatrical performance.
Prashanth Neel expresses dissatisfaction over Salaar Part 1, promises Salaar 2: Shouryanga Parvam as his greatest work
In a recent interview with Kairam Vaashi, the filmmaker expressed his dissatisfaction with how the film performed at the box office. Despite collecting over ₹700 crore and achieving commercial blockbuster status, the KGF director admitted that he is not “completely happy with how it turned out.” Promising to “make up” for the first part, Neel has vowed to put massive effort into the storyline of Salaar 2: Shouryanga Parvam.
He said. “I am not completely happy about it. I am a little disappointed with how much effort I put into the first part. I don’t know if subconsciously I was complacent coming off KGF 2, but ever since that happened, I decided to make Salaar 2 one of my best movies. The writing I have done for Salaar 2 is probably among my best works. I am going to make up for it more than I can imagine, and more than the audience is imagining right now. I have been confident about very few things in my life, and Salaar 2 is unquestionably one of my best works.”
The shooting for Salaar 2: Shouryanga Parvam reportedly began on leading man Prabhas' birthday this year. The sequel will continue from where the first installment ended.
