Salaar Box Office Day 1 Prediction: Prabhas starrer action drama eyes thunderous opening, to beat Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki

    The much-anticipted action-drama Salaar featuring Prabhas and Prithiviraj Sukumaran has finally arrived in the theatres today. The hype is real and advance buzz predicts a box office explosion on the very first day of its release. So far, the film has earned Rs 48.9 crore alone from its advance booking collection as per reports. The film’s opening collection in India is estimated to be between a record-breaking Rs 75 to 80 crore.

    As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the film may earn Rs 95 crore India net on its first day for all languages. With Prabhas’ immense fan base and Prashanth Neel’s blockbuster directorial expertise, the film is headed for the biggest opening of the year if reports are to be believed. More than 22 lakh tickets for 16,593 shows were sold on Friday. Out of which, 17 lakh tickets worth ₹38.25 crore contributed from Telugu shows alone. Over 2 lakh tickets worth 5.62 crore were sold for Hindi shows ahead of the film release.

    Earlier, the makers decided to withdraw screening their film in PVR INOX and Miraj Cinemas theatres in the south owing to undue favours to Dunki over the Prabhas-starrer. A spokesperson for Hombale Films said the multiplex chain did not honour their promise that they would get equal showcasing as Shah Rukh Khan starrer. Despite that, the film’s advance booking has paint a promising picture. Meanwhile, Dunki, which was released on Thursday(December 21, 2023), had an everage opening of Rs 30 crore. Salaar will easily surpass Dunki’s opening collection today as per reports.

    Directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner Hombale Films, the film is set in the fictional city of Khansaar and follows the gripping tale of two friends turned arch-rivals, played by Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran as Deva and Vardha respectively. The film also stars Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Tinnu Anand., Easwari Rao, Madhu Guruswamy and Chandu Kanuri among others.
