Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani early review: Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt's family entertainer hailed as 'terrific'

Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is just a day away from release, the early reviews are already pouring in which are largely positive. The film marks the return of filmmaker Karan Johar to the director’s chair after a hiatus of seven years, hence the excitement is high around the family entertainer.

Taking to Instagram, the film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh hailed Karan’s spectacle as ‘terrific’. “#KaranJohar gets it right with #RRKPK… Well-packaged entertainer that encompasses drama, emotions, romance, music seamlessly… #RanveerSingh fantastic, #AliaBhatt superb… Has merits to emerge a success story.” he wrote and gave four ratings to the movie. Backed by Dharma Productions, the film also stars veterans Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi and Dharmendra in important roles.

Actress Neha Dhupia also reviewed Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and called it ‘phenomenal’. Sharing pictures with Karan, Ranveer and Alia on Instagram, she wrote, “ Watched #rockyaurranikipremkahani with my endless tub of popcorn 🍿and lifelong arm candy by my side 😍… all of it … the movie , the music the magic is beyond phenomenal. @karanjohar you are a genre that is created by you and no one else can match up. You make us laugh out loud , cry to a point it’s cathartic and believe in Family as we all should ♥️ thank you for the stories you tell and scale your mind develops them in.”

Further, she also heaped praise on Alia and Ranveer’s performance in the family drama. “@aliaabhatt you and only are Rani , there’s no other way to define you … the ultimate queen 👸 @ranveersingh I’m fangirling over it all the accent , the the moves and the emotion and much more 🥰... @aapkadharam hi @azmishabana18 #jayabachchan ji just to see you all on screen together in this colour is incredible. And I’m not stopping till I mention the entire cast for their performances and the battles they fight. Absolutely stellar. . .. ok I must stop now… jus go have a blast at the movies!!!” she added.

Even Kamaal R Khan, a self-proclaimed critic, hailed it as a brilliant family drama. “Many people have watched film Rocky and Rani Ki Prem Kahani at the censor board offices in London, Singapore, Mauritius etc. and according to them, it’s a brilliant film with full of entertainment. And it’s going to be a sure shot HIT," he tweeted.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is set to arrive in theatres tomorrow i.e., July 28, 2023.
