Rocky Aur Rani kii Prem Kahaani box office Day 5: Ranveer-Alia starrer witnesses a slight jump, crosses Rs 60 crore-mark
As per the early estimates, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani collected Rs 7.25 crore on the fifth day, taking the total collection to Rs 60.17 crore.
The much anticipated Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani directed by Karan Johar hit the theatres on July 28, 2023. Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer romantic comedy marked the return of feel-good family drama especially for those who grew up on over-the-top and colourful Bollywood movies. As a result, the movie was welcomed with much enthusiasm by the audience, and it so far has amassed over Rs 60 crore.
As per the early estimates, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani collected Rs 7.25 crore on the fifth day, taking the total collection to Rs 60.17 crore. In the first four days of the release, the Alia-Ranvir starrer made Rs 11.1 crore on the first, Rs 16.5 crore on the second, Rs 18.75 crore on the third and Rs 7.02 crore on the fourth day. While the movie has remained steady at the box office in the first week, the second week would be crucial for the movie made with a budget of Rs 160 crore.
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was released just around the time when Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Greta Gerwig’s Barbie hysteria reached their peak globally and in India. However, trade analysts don’t see Hollywood films having an impact on Hindi films.
Meanwhile, Alia earlier took to Instagram to express her gratitude to her viewers. She shared a cute picture with Ranveer and Karan and captioned: "Love hain toh sab hain (There is everything if there is love)!!! From the bottom of our hearts .. thank you for all the love.. eternally grateful! Love, Rocky, Rani and our maker of this Kahaani (story) #RockyAurRaniKiiPremKahaani."
Aside from Ranveer and Alia, the movie has a spectacular cast of Bollywood veterans such as Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan. Sara Ali Khan, Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor and Ananya Panday have cameo appearances in the film. Backed by Dharma Productions, the movie marked the return of Karan to the director’s chair after a hiatus of seven years. His last directorial was Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
