The Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani had been maintaining an astounding pace at the box office ever since its release on July 28, 2023. However, the film saw a considerable dip on its fourth day which was a Monday (July 31). The movie has been directed by Karan Johar and marks the second collaboration of Alia and Ranveer after Gully Boy.
Talking about the same, according to a news report in Sacnilk, the movie earned Rs 7.50 crore on its fourth day according to the early estimates. Even though this is a sharp decrease in the collections, the family entertainer has managed to enter the Rs 50 crore mark in just 4 days. The Karan Johar directorial had opened at Rs 11.1 crore. It saw a favorable jump on its second and third day wherein it garnered Rs 16.05 crore and Rs 18.75 crore respectively. Now, with the fourth-day collections of the movie, the total collections stand at Rs 53.40 crore.
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani also stars Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan in the lead roles. It revolves around the story of a feisty Punjabi man and a fiery Bengali woman who fall in love with each other despite them and their families being poles apart from each other. It is how they aim to get aligned with each other’s family values to make their relationship work forms the main crux of the plot.
Desimartini’s review for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani read, “Karan Johar has curated a wholesome family entertainer which also aims to bring many underlying societal wrongs to the forefront under the garb of a love story. Be it Rani trying to empower the women of the Randhawa household who have been suppressed, tormented, and left devoid of their happiness and aspirations or Rocky trying to find acceptance with his unabashed self in the sophisticated and cultured lifestyle of the Chatterjees, the movie sheds light into many undercurrents. The writing by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan, and Sumit Roy has dialogues ranging from cheesy pickup lines, sleazy PJs, and many references from Karan Johar's previous movies which strike a chord."
