Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani: Alia’s chiffon sarees and chemistry with Ranveer make Tum Kya Mile worth watching
Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh’s first track Tum Kya Mile from Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is the perfect tribute to Karan Johar’s guru Yash Chopra
A few hours before the first song of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was dropped by makers, director Karan Johar penned a special note on social media. He shared how he wanted to pay homage to his guru and ace filmmaker Yash Chopra as a fan boy. Well, when the teaser of his much awaited film was launched, we knew KJo would take us back to a time when chiffon sarees and the snow shared an unbreakable bond in Bollywood. Much to our delight, the first track of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani titled Tum Kya Mile does complete justice to our expectations.
Shot in the picturesque valleys of Kashmir, the romantic melody begins with snowfall which reminds Rani aka Alia Bhatt of her Rocky, played by Ranveer Singh. The actor’s lip sync is perfect and he fits right into KJo’s magical world. But it is Alia’s gorgeous chiffon sarees that take the cake. Another highlight is Alia and Ranveer’s chemistry which is so natural and pure, it makes you fall in love with them within seconds. We could not have asked for a better casting.
Despite being helmed by the incredible Arijit Singh and the mesmerizing Shreya Ghoshal, the song on its own is nothing special. But Alia and Ranveer’s chemistry, Karan Johar’s vision and direction along with the location make Tum Kya Mile a must watch. It’s the perfect tribute to Yash Chopra and the beautiful tracks from his beloved films such as Chandni and Mohabbatein. Another reason that makes this song special is that it was the first shot Alia gave after she became a mother to her angel, Raha Kapoor.
Also starring Shabana Azmi, Dharmendra and Jaya Bachchan in never seen before avatars, Karan’s family dramedy Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is all set to arrive in theatres on 28th July. Are you excited to dive into KJo’s magical land of cinema once again? We sure are!
