Reality Check: Is Prashanth Neel skipping Jr NTR's movie for Ajith Kumar's AK64?
The internet buzzed with reports of Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar potentially joining Prashanth Neel's KGF universe. Let's delve into the truth behind these headlines and explore what's next for the acclaimed director.
Prashanth Neel is rumored to be working with Ajith Kumar.
On Wednesday, the internet was flooded with reports about director Prashanth Neel's movie with Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar. Even though it's an old, unverified rumour, it still grabbed everyone's attention after a news report claimed that Ajith would join the KGF universe, meaning he would share screen space with Kannada superstar Yash.
Ajith and Yash in the same movie, directed by Prashanth Neel, sounds excellent, and we can already imagine the shattering of Indian box office records globally. However, this piece of news seems to be nothing more than the wishful thinking of fans who are obsessed with seeing a cross-industry onscreen collaboration of big stars.
The report even claimed that Prashanth would put his much-awaited project with Telugu superstar Jr NTR on hold to start AK64. But, there seems to be little truth to it.
Some journalists seem to have reached out to the director's team to clarify the rumours. It appears that Prashanth and Ajith's collaboration is not on the cards.
"#NTRNeel set for August 2024 start may now go to floors by the year-end after #Devara's release. Fake news going around about #PrashanthNeel Projects and it will be clear soon. It's unlikely that Neel will complete his 'existing' commitments and related Part 2/3's before 2030!," tweeted AndhraBoxOffice.com.
At the moment, Prashanth is busy with the pre-production work of Salaar Part 2. Starring Telugu superstar Prabhas in the lead role, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire was released in cinemas to packed houses. Despite drawing mixed reactions from critics, the movie managed to earn more than Rs 600 crore in global ticket sales.
Prabhas is expected to join the Salaar 2 sets soon. He is now basking in the success of his epic mythological sci-fi drama, Kalki 2898 AD, which has earned more than Rs 1000 crore at the global box office.
