Rashmika Mandanna despite being delivering hit after hit has been the constant victim of internet trolls, the most recent being the rumor that she was banned from the Kannada film industry.
The actress who is currently promoting the Russian release of her Telugu superhit movie Pushpa in which she starred opposite Allu Arjun, addressed the rumors and quickly dismissed them saying she does overreact to comments made by industry outsiders.
The trouble started for the actress when in a recent interview with Curly Times the actress talked about her first movie Kirik Party. In which she acted opposite her ex-fiance Rakshit Shettywhoch and directed by Kantara fame Rishab Shetty.
In the interview, the actress did not mention the production house of her first movie and many felt that she had forgotten her roots and that this was a personal dig at the makers of the movie.
Adding further fuel to the fire she revealed that she had not seen Kantara when asked by the press. In her defense, this was just three days after the movie was released and the actress did later watch the movie and congratulate the team.
Despite this, there seems to be a rift between Rishab and the actress because when he was asked which actress he would like to work with next. Samantha, Sai Pallavi, or Rashmika to which he responded by saying he would love to work with Sai Pallavi and Samantha as they are real actors.
In the interview, he said, “mai actors ko script likhne ke baad choose karta hoon, aur mujhe ‘is’ type ke actress, I don’t like them”.
It is interesting that the director/actor choose to use air quotes when he said 'is type ke actress’, as Rashmika did the same when she was talking about the production of her first movie.
Well, it remains to be seen whether or not people are reading too much into this as for now the actress is busy with the Russian promotion for Pushpa as well as gearing up for the release of her next movie opposite Vijay ' Varisu '.
Varisu will hit theaters on January 12, 2023.
