Ram Gopal Varma takes Ajay Devgn and Kiccha Sudeep's Twitter clash forward, says "Runway 34 collection will prove who is better Hindi or Kannada"

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has re-ignited the already settled Twitter clash between Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn and South actor Kiccha Sudeep on the subject of Hindi being the national language. Taking the side of Kiccha, he said that there is a war-like situation between Bollywood and Sandalwood, and north stars are insecure and jealous of the south stars because of the success of the Kannada dubbing film KGF2. He went on to say that Ajay’s upcoming film Runway 34 collections will prove how much ‘GOLD is there in HINDI versus KANNADA’.

Earlier, Kiccha had created a stir with his statement that Hindi is no longer the national language as South Indian language films have taken over Hindi-language films at the box office. Later, Ajay hit back asking him why then South movies are dubbed in Hindi. Then Sudeep said that his statement didn’t intend to provoke or stoke a debate, after which Ajay drew back and the two appeared to make peace. However, the debate didn’t seem to end here, as Ram Gopal took to Twitter and expressed his views on the matter.

Supporting Kiccha, he tweeted, “Nothing can drive the point better than ur question on, what if you answer in Kannada to a Hindi tweet from @ajaydevgn .. Kudos to you and I hope everyone realises there’s no north and south and india is 1, sic.” While replying to Ajay, he wrote, “I believe so Ajay ..I know u as a person for so long and I know u could never mean it in the way it seemed to some ..Languages grew out of regional and cultural conviniences and were always meant to integrate and not separate, sic.”

Further, he replied to Kiccha writing, “Whether u intended or not am glad u made this statement ,because unless there’s a strong stir , there cannot be a calm especially at a time when there seems to be a war like situation between Bolly(north)wood and Sandal(South) wood.”

He didn't end here and created another stir with his statement on Bollywood Vs Sandalwood. “The base undeniable ground truth @KicchaSudeep sir ,is that the north stars are insecure and jealous of the south stars because a Kannada dubbing film #KGF2 had a 50 crore opening day and we all are going to see the coming opening days of Hindi films. Like the PROOF of the PUDDING is in the eating , the runway 34 collections will prove how much GOLD (kgf2) is there in HINDI versus KANNADA .. @ajaydevgn versus @KicchaSudeep,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn is awaiting the release of his upcoming film, Runway 34 which is slated to hit theatres on April 29. On the hand, the recently released KGF Chapter 2 starring south superstar Yash is going strong at the ticket window and has crossed Rs 900 crores in just 12 days of release.
