Lyca Productions on Monday announced the trailer and audio release date for its upcoming production, Vettaiyan, starring Superstar Rajinikanth. The music album, composed by Anirudh Ravichander, and the film’s prevue will be unveiled on September 20 during a pre-release event at Chennai's Nehru Stadium.

Vettaiyan is now in post-production and is set to arrive in cinemas next month. Written and directed by TJ Gnanavel, the film features Rajinikanth in a cop role.

Recently, the filmmakers released the first song from the movie’s music album titled Manasilaayo. The song’s theme and lyrics pay homage to the culture and traditions of Kerala. Released during Onam celebrations, it quickly became a top song for the holiday season across South India.

The success of Manasilaayo has shifted the overall vibe around the movie. Previously, there was speculation that Vettaiyan, helmed by Gnanavel, might be as sober and grounded as Jai Bhim. However, it seems Gnanavel has crafted this film with Rajinikanth's core fan base and market expectations in mind.

That said, Gnanavel recently emphasized that he is a big fan of Rajinikanth's acting talent and aimed to highlight that in Vettaiyan.

“I must have seen Mullum Malarum at least 50 times. He’s not just a superstar but a super actor. I’ve explored that side of him in Vettaiyan. He’s a trained actor, though he doesn’t claim to be one. He often says he relies on stock reactions. I want Rajini sir to do more films like Mullum Malarum. He has such depth as an actor, and the world deserves to see more of it,” Gnanavel shared in a recent interview.

Vettaiyan also stars Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, and Manju Warrier, among others. The film is slated to release in theaters on October 10.
