India is mourning the loss of Ratan Tata, the visionary industrialist who passed away at the age of 86. Superstar Rajinikanth joined in paying tribute, sharing a heartfelt message on social media that reflected the profound impact Ratan Tata had on the nation.

"A great legendary icon who put India on the global map with his vision and passion. The man who inspired thousands of industrialists, the man who created lakhs and lakhs of jobs for many generations, the man who was loved and respected by all. My deepest salutations to him. I will forever cherish every moment spent with this great soul. A true son of India is no more. Rest in peace," said Rajinikanth.

Tata, one of the world’s most respected industrialists, passed away on Wednesday night at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital, where he had been admitted in critical condition. His passing has sent shockwaves across the nation, with politicians, business leaders, and celebrities expressing their grief.

Amid the national mourning, Rajinikanth’s latest film Vettaiyan hit theatres. Despite the movie's release, the industry mood was sombre as leaders across various sectors reflected on the immense loss.

Rajinikanth himself is recovering from a medical procedure he underwent recently. The actor was treated for a swelling in the aorta, the primary artery that carries blood from the heart, through a non-surgical procedure. The treatment was planned in advance, and he was admitted to the hospital after completing a long shooting schedule for his upcoming movie Coolie in Hyderabad.

Rajinikanth is expected to rest for a few more weeks before resuming work. Meanwhile, his film Vettaiyan has opened to mixed reviews, and its box office performance remains to be seen.
