Rajinikanth meets the team Amaran
Superstar Rajinikanth is known for his prompt response in appreciating movies he enjoys. He often meets the cast and crew in person, taking photos that contribute to a movie's promotion, drive interest around it, and boost its box office performance. Rajinikanth has now extended the same courtesy to the latest Tamil movie, Amaran, produced by his friend Kamal Haasan.
Kamal’s home banner, Raajkamal Films International, has produced Amaran in association with Sony Pictures. Written and directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, the movie stars Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role. A special screening was arranged for Rajinikanth on Friday, and after watching the movie, he invited the main cast and crew, sharing his appreciation.
“Superstar Rajinikanth enjoyed watching his friend Kamal Haasan’s movie Amaran, directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy and starring Sivakarthikeyan. The superstar called up his friend Kamal Haasan yesterday and expressed his heartfelt appreciation for making the film. He also met Sivakarthikeyan, Amaran’s hero, Director Rajkumar Periyasamy, Producer R. Mahendran, and cinematographer Sai in person and congratulated them,” said the production team, sharing photos of Rajinikanth with the cast and crew.
Kamal Haasan, currently in the U.S. preparing for his next movie, missed the recent developments post-Amaran’s release. He participated in the initial promotional events and recorded a few video interviews before flying to the U.S., even missing Amaran's audio release event.
The production team also held a special screening for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin. After watching the movie, both leaders spoke with Kamal over the phone, sharing their praise for the film.
Amaran, based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, who died in a 2014 anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir, has garnered glowing reviews and is dominating the box office nationwide. Sai Pallavi stars as the female lead.
