Raid 2: Ajay Devgn to have a face-off with Riteish Deshmukh in Rajkumar Gupta's directorial

Ajay Devgn is all set to reprise his role of the fearless IRS officer Amay Patnaik in the upcoming thriller, Raid 2. Much like the original film Raid(2018), the actor will indulge in a hero vs villain battle, and this time his target will be Riteish Deshmukh. Yes, it is confirmed that Deshmukh will play the antagonist in the upcoming film.

Taking to Instagram stories, Devgn shared a few pictures from the Mahurat and welcomed Deshmukh saying, “Brothers by bond, rivals by choice! Welcome @riteishd” The duo has previously teamed up for out-and-out comedy drama Total Dhamaal. In Raid 2, the two reportedly will indulge in heavy-duty dialogue baazi. Joining them in the film as the female lead is Vaani Kapoor. Directed by Rajkumar Gupta, the film promises twice the drama and thrill as in the first part, which starred Ileana D’Cruz, Gayathiri Iyer and Saurabh Shukla.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also broke the news writing, “RITEISH DESHMUKH IS ANTAGONIST IN AJAY DEVGN STARRER ‘RAID 2’… After collaborating in comedies, #RiteishDeshmukh will face off against #AjayDevgn for the first time in #Raid2… Also features #VaaniKapoor… Directed by #RajkumarGupta… In *cinemas* 15 Nov 2024.#TSeries #PanoramaStudios.” Soon after, netizens shared their excitement in the comment section. A user wrote,”Riteish Deshmukh will nail it in the nailvillain.” Another user commented, “Starcast gajab hai hope ki movie bhi achi ho.”

The makers of Raid 2 have begun the shooting in Mumbai. The film will also be extensively shot in other cities including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Backed by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak and Krishan Kumar, the film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on November 15, 2024. Meanwhile, Devgn has another sequel Singham Again besides Raid 2 in his kitty. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film has an ensemble cast including Tiger Shroff, Deepika Padukone, and Kareena Kapoor. While Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar have cameos in the film. Apart from Raid 2 and Singham Again, Devgn will be seen in Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha and Shaitaan this year.
