‘Raha will be 4yrs old’: Ayan Mukerji announces release of Brahmastra Part 2 and 3 but fans are not impressed

2022 was an incredibly special year for Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Not only did they tie the nuptial knot and welcome their daughter Raha Kapoor into the world, but also got to see their passion project Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva finally release in theatres. The wait was excruciatingly long, but definitely worth it. Well, soon after the film arrived in theatres, fans began asking director Ayan Mukerji his plans for the next two parts of the trilogy in his Astraverse. Many netizens even requested him for a spin off entirely based on Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo as Vānarāstra.

Well, the wait is finally over because just a few minutes ago Ayan finally announced that Brahmastra Part 2: Dev and Brahmastra Part 3 will have back to back releases. He reserved 2026 and 2027 for the films, which will be shot together, and even hinted at a new project in the Astraverse. The filmmaker shared, “I have decided that we are going to make the two films... Together! Allowing them to also release closer together!” He went on to add, “I also have another piece of news to share... The Universe has presented me with a very special opportunity recently - a very special movie - to step into and direct! What the movie is... More on that when the time is right :).”

This definitely created a buzz on social media. While some are happy to finally get an update, most netizens are now complaining about the long wait for the second and third part of Ranbir and Alia’s films. In the comment section below, one social media user pointed out, “Raha will be 4yrs old 2026 omgg👀”, whereas another wrote: “Itnaa wait kon kregaa isse achaa salman bhai ki kisi ka bhai kisi ki jaan 10 brr dekh lugaa.” A third comment read: “2025 me daal dete post itni kya jaldi thi😂 2 din ke baad toh hum bhul bhi jayenge”, whereas another user suggested, “Yjhd part 2 bana lete sir😢.”

Meanwhile some are guessing that Ayan’s next film is going to focus on Vānarāstra and will star Shah Rukh. Well, if that is true, we are okay with waiting!
