Keerthy Suresh’s latest outing, Raghu Thatha, has finally made its digital debut on September 13. Directed by acclaimed scriptwriter Suman Kumar, this satire is now streaming on Zee5. The film struggled with an underwhelming box office performance due to its mixed reception following its theatrical release. Here’s everything you need to know before watching Raghu Thatha on Zee5:

Raghu Thatha revolves around Keerthy Suresh’s character, Kayalvizhi, an upper-division clerk who is also an anti-Hindi imposition activist. Throughout the film, the protagonist fights against societal notions about women and patriarchy, while also leading the movement against the imposition of the Hindi language in her town. The movie earned praise for the leading lady’s performance, while receiving criticism for its screenplay.

Even upon its release, the film failed to create any buzz, as it clashed with major Independence Day releases such as Thangalaan and Demonte Colony 2 in Tamil Nadu. Despite being produced under the prestigious banner of Hombale Films, the movie failed to capture the attention of audiences. Even though it grossed only average numbers at the box office, the film is expected to perform well with its OTT debut on Zee5 today.
