Ahead of the grand release of the Keerthy Suresh-starrer Raghu Thatha, the makers have begun the musical promotions of the film. In the latest development, the makers took to their social media handles to release the first single from the upcoming movie. Titled ‘Aruge Vaa’, the new song is written, composed and sung by popular composer Sean Roldan.

The quirky song features Keerthy Suresh and Ravindra Vijay sharing heartwarming romantic exchanges. Set against an 80s backdrop, the new song involves vintage romance, and the lead actors present an interesting romantic track. Check out the new song here!
Raghu Thatha is scheduled to have a theatrical release on August 15, 2024, and will clash with Vikram’s Thangalaan at the box office.

Going by the teaser, which was unveiled earlier, the upcoming film deals with the fight against the imposition of the Hindi language. The teaser takes us back to the 80s, where Keerthy Suresh’s character, Kayalvizhi, fights against Hindi imposition. The glimpse showcases the problems of forcing a language upon people and highlights linguistic politics in a fun and humorous way. Overall, the teaser promises to be a fun entertainer with a core message.
The upcoming film, headlined by the Mahanati actress, marks celebrated screenwriter Suman Kumar's directorial debut. He is known for his work in Farzi and Guns & Gulaabs, among others. Raghu Thatha is touted to be a comedy entertainer and is produced by Kannada production house Hombale Films, marking their first production venture in Tamil cinema.
Earlier, in a statement, Hombale Films revealed that they considered Keerthy the best choice to play this character. “Keerthy is the perfect choice to play the lead, given her talent and versatility, and we’re happy to have her on board,” said Vijay Kiragandur, the founder of Hombale Films.

Besides Keerthy Suresh, the upcoming film also features MS Bhaskar, Devadarshini, Ravindra Vijay, Anandsami, and Rajesh Balakrishnan in key roles. Sean Roldan is composing the music for the film, while Yamini Yagnamurthy is handling the cinematography. The editing is handled by TS Suresh.
