Raayan - Prakash Raj pens heartfelt note on the success of the film; writes, 'Dear Dhanush...’

Dhanush’s 50th film as an actor, Raayan, has been in the news ever since it hit the screens recently. Also directed by Dhanush, the gangster drama has been getting rave reviews from audiences, who have been celebrating the latest gem from Kollywood. Actor Prakash Raj, who plays a key role in the movie, heaped praise on Dhanush, crediting him for the film's success.

Praksh Raj plays a commissioner named Sargunam in the film. In his latest social media post, the veteran actor penned a heartfelt note thanking the audience. He wrote, “Team #Raayan….the joy when your work is loved..bliss. Thank you, audience. Dear ⁦@dhanushkraja⁩, thank you for making this happen.. keep entertaining…” 

Raayan declared blockbuster hit by fans

Raayan, which hit theatres on July 26, enjoyed a solo release in Tamil regions and opened to positive responses. Viewers who have watched the film are hailing Dhanush for delivering an impressive and engaging gangster drama. They have also appreciated the supporting cast for their brilliant performances.

Music composer AR Rahman has been getting special mention as his composition has elevated the gripping actioner. Overall, the film is bringing back the lost glory of Kollywood, which has been facing a challenging year.

Set in North Madras, Raayan revolves around a cook who seeks to avenge the deaths of his loved ones. The film is a retelling of the epic Ramayana, where Dhanush plays the role of Raavana, while SJ Suryah has a role similar to that of Lord Ram.

Besides Dhanush, the film also stars Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, Dussehra Vijayan, Prakash Raj, SJ Suryah, Selvaraghavan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Aparna Balamurali in key roles.

On the technical front, the film has an original background score and soundtrack composed by AR Rahman, with cinematography handled by Om Prakash. The movie’s dance choreography is done by Prabhudeva and Bada Baskar, with editing handled by Prasanna. Peter Hein has choreographed the stunt sequences for the actioner.
