Raayan box office collection day 9: Dhanush-starrer continues its successful run, becomes his highest-grossing film ever

It's week two, but the Dhanush-starrer Raayan is continuing its successful run at the box office. The latest action drama, directed by Dhanush in his second directorial venture, has been enjoying an impressive run in theaters ever since its release. Starring Dhanush, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Dushara Vijayan, and SJ Suryah in leading roles, the Tamil film entered the Rs 100-crore club within a week of its release and went on to become the fastest Dhanush-starrer to achieve this milestone. Here’s how much the film earned on the 9th day of its release:

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the Dhanush-starrer minted an impressive opening collection of Rs 13.65 crore. The film then maintained the same momentum and has now earned approximately Rs 118 crore worldwide, with over Rs 68.35 crore at the domestic box office. The movie also became Dhanush’s fastest film to enter the Rs 100-crore club and has now surpassed his 2018 film Vaathi’s box office collection, which earned a total of Rs 118 crore. Raayan has now become the highest-grossing film in his career. 

Raayan enters Oscar Library

In a recent update, the makers of Raayan announced that the film’s screenplay has been selected to be part of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences library. The makers shared this incredible feat with a poster from the film. The library boasts a vast collection of film scripts from the 1910s till now. The other recent Tamil film screenplay to make it to the library is that of Parking, starring Harish Kalyan.

Raayan plot and cast

 Raayan is an action flick that revolves around four siblings and their quest for revenge against a gangster, played by SJ Suryah. The film is set in North Madras. Besides Dhanush, the film also stars Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, Dushara Vijayan, Prakash Raj, SJ Suryah, Selvaraghavan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Aparna Balamurali in key roles.
