Raayan box office collection day 3: Dhanush's film has a successful first weekend, eyes this milestone

Dhanush’s latest outing, Raayan, is unstoppable! The 50th film of the Tamil actor, which recently hit the big screens, has been winning audiences ever since its initial release. Directed by Dhanush himself, in his second directorial venture, the latest gangster action drama revolves around a cook disguised as a gangster who avenges the death of his loved ones. The film, which has been enjoying impressive footfall at the theatres, earned remarkable figures on its third day of release.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Dhanush’s latest film Raayan made an impressive opening and raked in a decent collection of Rs 13.65 crore. On day 3, Raayan’s collection was higher than that of day 2, with the film earning over Rs 14.75 crore. With this, the film has earned a total worldwide collection of approximately Rs 75 crore, with Rs 33 crore collected solely from the Tamil Nadu box office. With positive word-of-mouth, the film is expected to hit the Rs 100 crore mark by this weekend, turning out to be the saviour film for Kollywood, which generally had a disappointing year.

Raayan stars praise Dhanush

 Raayan, which boasts an ensemble cast, was elevated mainly due to the impressive performances showcased by the supporting cast members. Earlier, the main stars of Raayan heaped praise on director-actor Dhanush for his incredible command over the craft. Actor Prakash Raj, who played a pivotal role in the film, said that he was proud of Dhanush's success and called it 'Asura Valarchi Alagana Valarchi'. Actress Dushara Vijayan couldn't contain her excitement over being part of Raayan and revealed that she learned a lot during the filming. Kalidas Jayaram said that he considers Dhanush his mentor as he learned a lot from the senior actor while working together. Sundeep praised Dhanush's humanity and called him an inspiration for everyone who aims to make it big.

Set in North Madras, Raayan revolves around a cook who seeks to avenge the deaths of his loved ones. Besides Dhanush, the film also stars Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, Dushara Vijayan, Prakash Raj, SJ Suryah, Selvaraghavan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Aparna Balamurali in key roles.
