Raayan box office collection day 2: Dhanush-starrer continues winning streak, earns THIS much

Dhanush-starrer Raayan, which hit the big screens recently, has been one of the most talked-about films among Kollywood cine-goers after a long hiatus. The 50th film of Dhanush, which also marks the actor’s second directorial venture, is a gangster drama. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, Dussehra Vijayan, and SJ Suryah in key roles. The film has been garnering overwhelming responses since its release, with fans continuously raving about the Dhanush directorial. Here’s how much the film earned on its second day of release:

According to industry trackers, the latest gangster actioner Raayan made an impressive opening by collecting Rs 13.65 crore. On day 2, the film saw a surge, earning Rs 13.85 crore, bringing its total revenue to Rs 28 crore. The film also enjoyed an average of 60.85% Tamil occupancy on Saturday. The film has been enjoying its solo release this weekend and is set to rake in more numbers in the days ahead. 

Prakash Raj pens note on Raayan’s success

 Actor Prakash Raj, who plays a key role in the latest gangster actioner, recently heaped praise on the Tamil star and credited him for the film's success. In his recent social media post, the veteran actor penned a heartfelt note thanking the audiences and wrote, “Team #Raayan….the joy when your work is loved..bliss. Thank you, audience. Dear @dhanushkraja, thank you for making this happen.. keep entertaining…” The actor essays the role of a commissioner in the film named Sargunam.

Raayan plot

Set against the backdrop of North Madras, Raayan revolves around a cook who seeks to avenge the death of his loved ones. The film is a retelling of the epic Ramayana, where Dhanush plays the role of Raavana, while SJ Suryah essays a role similar to that of Lord Ram. Besides Dhanush, the film also stars Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, Dussehra Vijayan, Prakash Raj, SJ Suryah, Selvaraghavan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Aparna Balamurali in key roles.
