Veteran actress Raadhika Sarathkumar has voiced her concerns over the findings of the Hema Committee report, questioning the government's delay in making the report public. "Why did it take the government so long to release the report?" she asked, reflecting a sentiment shared by many in the industry.

The Hema Committee report, which was submitted to the government in 2019, was only recently made public, and its revelations have sent shockwaves through the country. The report has brought to light several disturbing practices in the Malayalam film industry, prompting widespread scrutiny and outrage.

Raadhika acknowledged that the issue of sexual exploitation is not limited to the Malayalam film industry. "Many women have approached me for help due to such behaviour," she told Asianet News. "This is not just happening in Kerala; it's widespread across all film industries in India." Her comments came in response to allegations of inappropriate behaviour on film sets, including instances where actresses were reportedly disturbed in their rooms late at night.

In a particularly alarming revelation, Raadhika shared her own experience of feeling unsafe in a supposedly private space. "I was shocked to learn that even caravans weren't safe for actresses," she disclosed. "One day, I noticed a group of boys laughing and watching something on a phone. When I asked what was going on, I found out that hidden cameras had been used to film actresses changing their clothes. You can even find videos of actresses changing if you search their names. After that incident, I was terrified to use the caravan. Now, I prefer staying in hotels."

The Malayalam film industry has been hit by the resurgence of the #MeToo movement triggered by the Hema Committee findings. Several women have now filed cases against leading personalities of Malayalam cinema on allegations of sexual abuse and misconduct.
