Premalu star Naslen's stunning transformation for Alappuzha Gymkhana is a game-changer

Naslen is quickly proving his versatility, expanding his range early in his career. After his breakout success with Premalu, many expected him to continue in romantic roles to capitalize on his newfound fame. However, Naslen has chosen a different path, opting for a full-fledged action drama in the form of a boxing film titled Alappuzha Gymkhana.

The filmmakers recently unveiled a teaser, giving audiences a glimpse of Naslen’s new avatar. He appears totally ripped and convincing as a boxing star. It's evident that Naslen has undergone intense physical training to embody the role, with his boxing moves looking sharp and authentic.

The teaser promises a memorable addition to the rare genre of boxing films in Indian cinema. Alappuzha Gymkhana has the potential to redefine Naslen’s image and elevate him to the status of a bona fide action hero—an achievement few actors attain this early in their careers.

The film is directed by Khalid Rahman, who impressed audiences with his 2022 hit Thallumaala. Known for its innovative storytelling and stylish presentation, Thallumaala struck a chord with viewers across India. Similarly, Alappuzha Gymkhana is expected to be a stylish production, offering a fresh and unseen side of Naslen.

Naslen first won hearts with his relatable, boy-next-door performance in Premalu, one of the biggest commercial hits in Malayalam cinema history. Made on a budget of under Rs 15 crore, Premalu grossed over Rs 136 crore globally. The film was also well-received in Tamil and Telugu markets, turning both Naslen and co-star Mamitha Baiju into overnight sensations.

Premalu was an out-and-out comedy entertainer in which Naslen played the role of an average Joe who falls in love with a girl far out of his league. The resounding success of the movie prompted the filmmakers to announce a sequel, Premalu 2, which is set to hit screens in 2025.
