With rumours swirling around the cast—including hints that Korean star Ma Dong-seok (Don Lee) might join the film—Prabhas' Spirit is generating buzz as a potential global blockbuster.
Prabhas in and as The Raaj Saab
Bhushan Kumar of T-Series is thrilled about his upcoming association with Telugu superstar Prabhas. Titled Spirit, the movie marks Prabhas' maiden collaboration with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. While both Prabhas and Sandeep hail from the Telugu film industry, their first-time collaboration is being positioned as a project of international repute.
"Spirit is a dream combination of Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Prabhas. Even Prabhas is super excited about it," Bhushan told Connect Cine.
Bhushan revealed that Sandeep is currently busy writing the screenplay for Spirit, while simultaneously composing the score and songs for the movie. "If you’ve seen his previous movies—Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh, or Animal—you know how good the songs were. Music is part of his writing. He composes songs while writing," he added.
Spirit has captured the imagination of moviegoers across India, fueled by casting speculations. Some reports suggest that the filmmakers have roped in South Korean movie star Ma Dong-seok, popularly known as Don Lee, for a key role in the movie. Recently, Don Lee added more fuel to this speculation by sharing a photo of Prabhas from Salaar on his Instagram story.
"It's a cop drama. It's a very, very huge film. The way he's writing scenes and scaling it up—it’s in a very different zone. We are also putting together a unique cast with Prabhas and will make announcements soon. I am very excited about the film," Bhushan shared.
Spirit is set to go on floors in December, with shooting expected to begin early next year. The filmmakers are planning a mid-2026 release.
Bhushan also expressed confidence in the potential of Prabhas' upcoming film, The Raja Saab, due in cinemas in April next year. "It's looking very promising, and horror comedy is also the flavour of the season. Some visuals I saw from the movie give a Harry Potter-like vibe," he added.
