This year's blockbuster pan-Indian spectacle Kalki 2898 AD has been officially selected to be screened at the 29th edition of the Busan International Film Festival. After creating waves at the box office this year, the film has achieved yet another feat by being officially selected for the prestigious film festival. The film will be screened on October 8 and October 9, 2024.

The makers of the film recently took to their social media handles to share the exciting news, writing, “We’re delighted to announce that #Kalki2898AD is all set to be screened at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival! Catch the EPIC BLOCKBUSTER on October 8th & 9th."
The 29th edition of the film festival will take place from October 2, with the curtains coming down on October 11. The movie will be screened on October 8, 2024, and October 9, 2024.
Kalki 2898 AD's first glimpse was initially launched at the prestigious Comic-Con in San Francisco. Upon its initial release this year, the film minted over Rs 1,100 crore at the box office.

Directed by National Award-winning director Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan, is set in a dystopian era where the modern avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu, Kalki, descends on Earth to fight evil forces.
Besides the lead actors, the movie boasts a star-studded supporting cast, including Disha Patani, Anna Ben, Pasupathy, Shobana, Saswata Chatterjee, and Brahmanandam, along with cameo appearances by Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, Vijay Deverakonda, Ram Gopal Varma, SS Rajamouli, and Malavika Nair.

Post the release of the film, the makers announced that the sequel to the film is in the works and is expected to be released in 2027 or 2028. For context, Kalki 2898 AD is the first instalment in the Kalki Cinematic Universe. The film series is set to have three parts in total.
