Planet of The Apes finds new lead in The Stand actor Owen Teague who will replace Andy Serkis in the upcoming reboot
The upcoming fourth installment in the franchise, which will serve as a soft reboot has found its new lead actor.

The fourth installment in the Planet of the Apes franchise will be set many years after the death of Caesar, with Humans and Apes co existing.
Owen Teague will be playin the lead, the actor is best known for his performance in the recent adaption of Steven Kings The Stand and played the role of Harold Lauder.
According to sources, the actor "wowed execs with his screen tests" before being offered the gig shortly after, The movie was announced in 2019 and will be directed by Wes Ball(The Maze Runner).
The movie has no official release date and according to inside sources the studio hopes to start production by the end of the year.
The 2011 trilogy concluded in 2017 with War for the Planet of the Apes, which was a critical and commercial success and grossed over 490 million worldwide.
There are plenty of story opportunities for the fourth movie to explore and It will be interesting to see what direction Wes Ball will take.
Owen Teague is also to set appear in the Netflix Thriller Reptile as well as the A24 movie Beth&Don.
The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be announced but we are sure to learn more information in the upcoming months as the movie starts gearing up for production.
