Telugu superstar and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan took immediate action against popular choreographer Jani Master, who has been accused of sexual assault.
On Monday, Pawan’s party, Jana Sena, released a public statement announcing that Jani Master has been suspended from the party with immediate effect due to the serious investigation against him. Jani Master, known for choreographing popular dance numbers like Kaavaalaa and Ranjithame, joined the Jana Sena party in January, just months before Pawan and his coalition parties won the assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh.
Soon after news of the allegations surfaced, the party distanced itself from him. This move is significant as it ensures a fair investigation into the matter, preventing any appearance of political interference.

The woman involved reportedly worked with Jani Master previously. In her complaint, she accused him of sexual assault. A zero FIR was initially registered at the Raidurgam police station in Telangana before the case was transferred to the Narsingi police station.
Notably, Jani Master won a National Award this year for choreographing a song in the Tamil film Thiruchitrambalam.
Jani master has not yet reacted to the case against him. In recent years, he has become one of the most sought-after choreographers, not just in Telugu cinema, but across the South Indian film industry.
These allegations come amid an ongoing debate about women's safety in the Indian film industry. The Hema Committee, which investigated security challenges for women in Malayalam cinema, recently revealed widespread sexual exploitation in the industry. This sparked demands for systemic changes. Similar calls have emerged in the Telugu film industry, with A-listers like Samantha Ruth Prabhu urging the Telangana government to make the findings of the sub-committee public and to implement necessary measures to prevent abuse of power and sexual exploitation.
