'Pathaan se jyada collection krne wali ye': Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 release date announcement leaves netizens excited

Amid Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan taking the box office by storm, the makers of Gadar 2 dropped the first look of Sunny Deol as intense Tara Singh. And the fans are going gaga over his look in the much-awaited sequel of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The film created an insurmountable stir in Bollywood back in 2001. The netizens now anticipate that its sequel will break records of Pathaan when it will release on August 11.

Taking to Instagram, Sunny unveiled his first look from the movie in which he could be seen reprising his old avatar and holding a hammer. Sharing the poster, he wrote, “Hindustan Zindabaad Hai….Zindabaad Tha.. .aur Zindabaad Rahega!This Independence Day, we bring to you the biggest sequel in Indian cinema after two decades. #Gadar2 releasing in Cinemas on 11th August 2023.” Soon after the excited netizens spammed his comment section with their reactions.

One of the users wrote, “Isko release hone do sare theater full jayge dekh liyo”(let it release, all theatres will be Housefull). “Gadar 2 sunny paji ko pramotion ki v jarurat nhi padne wali…”(no need of promotions for Gadar 2), commented one of the netizens. While a few compared it with a frenzy around Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, and wrote, “Pathan se jyada collection krne wali movie aarahi he.” “Tum pathaan dekh lo..hum toh Gadar 2 dekhenge,” added another. “Gadar will break many records if it's made on the level of its first part,” read a comment.

For the unversed, Pathan has surpassed Rs 50 crore-mark on it opening day and geared up to cross the Rs 100 crore milestone over the weekend as per reports. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the action drama is fourth instalement of Yash Raj Film spy universe starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham and Dimple Kapadia in pivotal roles. The film was released in theatres on January 25 in three languages including Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Meanwhile, Gadar 2 will see Ameesha Patel reprising her role as Sakeena. Directed by Anil Sharma, the film is backed by Zee Studios.
