Joju George’s Malayalam directorial, Pani, which released earlier this week, has been receiving overwhelming responses from audiences for its thrilling performances. The action drama, which made an impressive theatrical debut, continues to rake in more numbers at the box office. The film stars Abhinaya, Joju George, Sagar Surya, and Chandini Sreedharan in key roles. Here’s how much the Malayalam violent action flick has earned so far:

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Joju George's Pani collected approximately Rs 1.15 crore on its opening day and went on to collect Rs 1.27 crore on day 2. So far, the film has minted around Rs 2.42 crore in 3 days and is expected to cross Rs 5 crore by the end of the weekend. As per early estimates, the film also earned more than Rs 17 lakh at the Kerala box office and enjoyed a decent Malayalam occupancy rate of 13.69% on day 2.
Upon its initial release, the film received mixed to positive responses from audiences who praised the director-actor for crafting a thrilling action drama for Mollywood fans. However, some fans felt that the film's flat writing was a letdown. Nevertheless, the film continues to perform well despite such criticisms.
Joju George’s Pani
Written and directed by Malayalam actor Joju George, Pani is a complete action thriller that follows the high-octane, violent rivalry between two gangs. Besides the lead cast, the movie also features Sujith Shanker, Alexander Prasanth, Abhaya Hiranmayi, Seema, Babu Namboothiri, Ranjith Velayudhan, and Bitto Davis in supporting roles. The original background score and soundtrack for the film are composed by Kollywood composer Sam CS.
Reception for Pani
Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap had earlier praised Pani after attending a preview show. In an Instagram post, he hailed the Malayalam film as a powerful thriller and drama, commending it as a confident directorial debut by Joju George. Kashyap compared Pani to some of the best Korean new wave films and described it as "absolutely unmissable."
