    The most awaited update is here! The official teaser for Basil Joseph and director Jeethu Joseph’s upcoming film Nunakuzhi has been released. The makers of the dark comedy took to their social media handles to share the teaser. Headlined by Basil Joseph, the film is scheduled for a theatrical release on August 15, 2025.

    Nunakuzhi teaser gives a fun glimpse into the dark comedy

    The new teaser first introduces Basil Joseph as Eby Zacharia, a wealthy businessman whose company becomes the target of an IT raid. The cops describe him as a deceiver with many secrets. They plan to charge Eby with several cases, enough to ensure he gets imprisoned. 

    We then get to see Basil Joseph's character trying to clear his name, as he is seemingly mistaken for someone else by the law enforcement. 

    The teaser also gives glimpses of other characters, such as the one played by actress Grace, who is seen putting a body in the trunk of a car. Although it’s unclear if there is a murder, the teaser promises to be a fun yet thrilling dark comedy.

    With Jeethu Joseph at the helm, fans can expect unpredictable twists in the story, coupled with comical performances by Basil Joseph.

    Helmed by Drishyam director Jeethu Joseph, Nunakuzhi is the first time that he has collaborated with Basil Joseph. The film’s screenplay is written by KR Krishnakumar, with whom Jeethu is teaming up after their hit collaborations 12th Man (2022) and Kooman (2022).

    Earlier, when the project was announced, the makers unveiled the title poster, which featured the tagline "Liar’s Day Out," with a signpost referencing dialogues from Malayalam pop culture. Besides the leading man, Basil, the movie also stars Grace, Siddique, Baiju Santhosh, Saiju Kurup, Aju Varghese, and Manoj K Jayan in key roles.

    On the technical front, the cinematography for the movie is handled by Satish Kurup, while editing is done by Vinayak VS. The movie is bankrolled by Vikram Mehra and Siddharth Anand Kumar under the banner of Saregama and Vintage Films.

    At the box office, Nunakuzhi is set to clash with Vikram's Tamil period film Thangalaan and Ram Pothineni's Telugu film Double iSmart this Independence Day.
