NTR-NEEL: Jr NTR to start shooting in December 2024? Producer drops major update

Ever since the NTR-Neel project was officially launched, fans have been eagerly awaiting an update on the film’s shooting schedule. According to the latest reports, producer Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers, who is bankrolling the project, has revealed major details about the upcoming film’s shooting schedule.

The producer, who was attending the teaser launch event of the upcoming Telugu film Mathu Vadalara 2, was asked by reporters for an update on the NTR-Neel project. He enthusiastically replied that the shooting would commence in October or November 2024, with Jr NTR joining the schedule in December. This update has left fans buzzing with excitement, as they have been eagerly anticipating the start of this dream project. 

As per reports, director Prashanth Neel is currently busy finalizing the script, ensuring it meets the massive expectations of the audience. Reports also indicate that the film’s shooting will take place in around 15 countries. Jr NTR will not be part of the initial schedule, so Prashanth Neel will be filming some key scenes without him. Jr NTR is currently occupied with War 2 and will join the project later in the year. Rashmika Mandanna is reportedly playing the female lead in this highly anticipated film helmed by Prashanth Neel. 

Is the NTR-Neel project titled Dragon?

According to earlier sources, Prashanth Neel's upcoming film has been titled Dragon, although an official confirmation is still awaited. Interestingly, another Tamil film starring Love Today actor Pradeep Ranganathan has also been titled Dragon, which has already been announced. Therefore, we may have to wait and see if the makers of the NTR-Neel project retain the same title or choose another one. 

NTR-Neel project launched

Earlier, the film was officially launched with a grand pooja ceremony in Hyderabad. The event was attended by both the Telugu superstar and the popular filmmaker, along with their respective families. Following the ceremony, the makers officially announced that the highly anticipated mass action film is tentatively titled NTR-Neel instead of NTR 31. The project is being jointly produced by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts and is set to be a period film. The makers had also previously announced that the film is slated for release on January 9, 2026.
