Nivin Pauly starrer 'Thuramukham' gets January 2022 release date

Thuramukhan the period drama finally gets an official release date and is set to hit the big screen in January 2022. The movie which was was previously set to release on the 13th May 2021 was delayed due to the pandemic, however, the movie did get screened at the 2021 International Film Festival in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and got good reviews.

The movie stars Nivin Pauly, Indrajith Sukumaran, Nimisha Sajayan , Joju George, and Poornima Indrajith in the lead roles and is based on true events focusing on the revolts against the 'Chappa' system.

The 'Chappa' system was a cruel and oppressive form of 'work guarantee' where daily laborers were thrown a limited number of tokens, who would then proceed to fight over them, the system excited in the 1940s and 50s in the Mattancherry harbor in Kochi. 

The movie will focus on the story of two brothers as they struggle against the system and lead a revolt to stop it, the movie is set for theatres on 20, January after previous release date revisions.
