Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly on Wednesday filed a complaint with Additional Director General of Police, Crime Branch, H. Venkatesh, alleging a conspiracy against him within the Malayalam film industry. In his complaint, he claimed that the rape allegations against him were fabricated and requested a speedy investigation to clear his name. He has asked authorities to investigate and identify those behind the alleged conspiracy.

Nivin's complaint follows accusations made by a young woman, who claimed that he raped her in a hotel room in Dubai last December, along with five others. She alleged that she had been invited to Dubai under the pretence of auditioning for a film, only to be sexually assaulted.

According to reports, the alleged victim initially approached the Oonnukal police station about two months ago with these same allegations against Nivin. However, after preliminary investigations, including questioning Nivin over the phone, the complaint was dismissed due to lack of evidence. The situation changed after the release of the Hema Committee report, which exposed the widespread practice of sexual exploitation in the Malayalam film industry, prompting authorities to revisit all related complaints.

An FIR was subsequently filed against Nivin, naming him as the sixth accused, sending shockwaves across the state. Nivin immediately held a press conference, vehemently denying all allegations and vowing to go to any length to prove his innocence.

Recently, actor-filmmaker Vineeth Sreenivasan publicly defended Nivin, claiming to have evidence disproving the allegations. Vineeth revealed that Nivin was in Kochi shooting for Varshangalkku Shesham with him during the days the alleged sexual assault was said to have occurred in Dubai. Nivin has also reportedly submitted his passport to authorities to prove he was in the country during the dates mentioned in the complaint.
