Netflix's 2025 slate of Tamil films revealed - Retro to Good Bad Ugly

Sankranthi and Pongal also bring Netflix Pandigai, with the OTT giant announcing the list of exciting films that will begin streaming this year after their theatrical run. After unveiling the slate of Telugu films for Sankranti, the OTT platform has now released the Tamil list for Netflix Pandigai 2025!

Just like last year, Netflix is gearing up to stream some of the most exciting Tamil films this year. From Ajith Kumar's Good Bad Ugly to Suriya's Retro, here's a look at all the Tamil films to look forward to on Netflix this year!

Good Bad Ugly

Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, Good Bad Ugly stars Thala Ajith as a stylish gangster in this action drama. Trisha plays the female lead, and the film’s release date is yet to be announced. Announcing the film as the first from the Netflix Pandigai Tamil slate, the OTT platform wrote, "AK fans, it’s time to pick your favourite: the Good, the Bad, or the Ugly. Or... why not all three? 👀⚡ Good Bad Ugly, coming to Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi after its theatrical release!"

Retro

Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Retro marks the maiden collaboration between Suriya and Karthik Subbaraj. Touted to be a romantic action drama, the film stars Pooja Hegde in the female lead, with Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, and Sujith Shankar among the supporting cast. In the announcement poster, Netflix wrote, "A man’s love can move mountains, but his rage? That’s Retro! 💥 Retro, coming to Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada after its theatrical release! #NetflixPandigai."

Bison

Helmed by Mari Selvaraj, Bison stars Dhruv Vikram in his first collaboration with the acclaimed filmmaker. Touted to be a sports action drama based on Kabaddi, the film features Anupama Parameswaran and Rajisha Vijayan as the female leads. Adding the film to its 2025 slate, Netflix wrote, "Against violence, against destiny—this Bison takes charge! 🔥 Bison, coming to Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada after its theatrical release! #NetflixPandigai."

Dragon

After the success of Love Today, Pradeep Ranganathan and AGS Entertainments are set to present another comedy entertainer—Dragon, directed by Oh My Kadavule fame director Ashwath Marimuthu. Sharing the announcement, Netflix wrote, "When desperation meets deceit, Dragon takes flight! 🔥 Dragon, coming to Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada after its theatrical release! #NetflixPandigai."

Kaantha

Based on vintage Tamil cinema, Kaantha stars heartthrobs Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati, along with Bhagyashri Borse. Directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, Netflix added the film to its 2025 slate and wrote, "Two artists. One feud. A lesson they’ll never forget. Kaantha is coming to Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi after its theatrical release. #NetflixPandigai."

Perusu

Directed by Ilango Ram, Netflix has just announced the arrival of another comedy entertainer titled Perusu, starring Vaibhav, Sunil Reddy, and Bala, among others. Netflix wrote, "This family puts the 'fun' in 'funeral' 🤭👀 Perusu is coming to Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada after its theatrical release! #NetflixPandigai."

Pradeep Ranganathan and Keerthiswaran untitled project

As announced earlier, Pradeep Ranganathan will collaborate with debutant Keerthiswaran, who had previously worked as an assistant director to Sudha Kongara. Netflix dropped a hint, writing, "Something big’s brewing with @pradeeponelife and #Keerthiswaran! 👀 A Pradeep-Keerthiswaran movie is coming to Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi after its theatrical release! 🔥 #NetflixPandigai."

Vidaamuyarchi

Directed by Magizh Thirumeni, Vidamuyarchi, starring Ajith Kumar, is the official remake of the Hollywood action thriller Breakdown. Initially slated for a Pongal release, Netflix has now added the film to its 2025 slate for streaming after its theatrical debut. The OTT platform wrote, "Ajith Kumar is back, proving why Vidamuyarchi never fails! 🔥 Vidamuyarchi is coming to Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi after its theatrical release! #NetflixPandigai."
