The wait is over! The makers of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s upcoming film, tentatively titled NBK 109, have finally unveiled its official title. The film, directed by Bobby Kolli, is now titled Daaku Maharaaj.
Sharing the exciting update, the makers also released the teaser of the film. They wrote, “Witness the 𝑮𝑶𝑫 𝑶𝑭 𝑴𝑨𝑺𝑺𝑬𝑺 like never before!! Presenting the one and only #NandamuriBalakrishna Garu as #DaakuMaharaaj. Here’s the much-awaited title teaser! Brace yourselves for the ultimate power-packed experience on Jan 12, 2025, in cinemas worldwide.” The makers also released a power-packed teaser of the film.

The new teaser features a massive barren landscape, with a voiceover stating that this story is neither about the gods who spread light nor the demons who rule the darkness. The teaser then shifts to showcase Bobby Deol, walking in style, exuding perfect antagonist vibes. The narration continues, revealing that the story is about a king who fought without a kingdom. The visuals highlight a man rising from the flames and fighting goons, in the grand introduction of Daaku Maharaaj, with Nandamuri Balakrishna riding a horse and unleashing his power.

Daaku Maharaaj is all set to hit theaters worldwide on January 12, 2024, entering the Sankranthi box office race alongside Ram Charan’s Game Changer.

Helmed by Bobby Kolli, the upcoming film marks the maiden collaboration between Balayya and the director. Kanguva and Animal star Bobby Deol plays the antagonist in the film. Earlier reports suggested that Dulquer Salmaan will essay the role of Balayya’s son, with his character said to have a unique twist, although it has only remained a speculation so far. Shine Tom Chacko is also a part of the ensemble cast. The project is produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinema, with Srikara Studios presenting the film.

As announced earlier, Netflix has purchased the digital rights to the film. It will be available for streaming on the OTT platform after its theatrical run.
