Actor-producer Nani, currently promoting his upcoming action drama Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, has voiced his frustration over the frequent reshuffling of release dates in the Telugu film industry. He highlighted how the inability of some big-budget films to meet their release commitments causes widespread inconvenience and financial loss to the entire industry.

Nani emphasized the importance of only announcing a release date when there is full certainty that the film can be delivered on time. "Without the clarity of when we could release the movie and announce a release date, it will inconvenience many people," Nani told Gulte. "It's not just a matter of pride to make sure to release the film on the announced date. If big movies don't come out as planned, it will inflict a loss on many people."

His comments come in the wake of several high-profile movies recently postponing their releases, causing smaller films to scramble and adjust their schedules. Take, for example, Pushpa 2: The Rule, a highly anticipated movie starring Telugu superstar Allu Arjun. Originally announced for an Independence Day release, the film was later postponed due to production delays. This change forced many other films that had planned their release around the same date to either delay their own launches or adjust their production schedules accordingly.

"When an expected movie announces a release date, other films that were planned for the release will be postponed. Their movies will be completed, but they will decide to wait," Nani explained. "Or some people can slow down the production assuming that the particular date is not available. And if my movies don't come out on the said date, it's a loss for others. And it also leads to a situation where everyone is forced to come out at the same time."

Nani noted that the industry has seen a noticeable increase in such instances recently. "These days we have seen a spike in such instances. Because of the unpreparedness of some, even those who are prepared are not able to release their movies as planned."

While acknowledging that there can be genuine reasons for a film's delay, Nani criticized the practice of announcing release dates prematurely. "There may be genuine reasons behind why some movies don't make it to theatres as planned. But the cases where the producers make the announcement just to block the date without proper clarity about the time that is required for the production is not a good thing," he said.
