In a surprising turn of events, Telugu star Nagarjuna Akkineni's N Convention Centre in Hyderabad was demolished on Saturday by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) authorities. The demolition was part of a broader effort to remove constructions allegedly encroaching on lake beds. However, Nagarjuna has expressed deep shock and disbelief over the demolition, claiming it was carried out unlawfully and without prior notice.

"Pained by the unlawful manner of demolition carried out in respect of N Convention, contrary to existing stay orders and Court cases. I thought it fit to issue this statement to place on record certain facts for protecting my reputation and to indicate that we have not done any actions in violation of law," said Nagarjuna.

"The land is a Patta land, and not even an inch of tank plan is encroached. In respect of the building constructed inside the private land, there is a stay order granted against any earlier illegal notice for demolition," he added.

Nagarjuna further argued that the demolition was based on misinformation, highlighting that no notice was given prior to the action. The actor also assured that he would have complied with a court order if it had ruled against him, underscoring his stance as a law-abiding citizen.

The N Convention Centre in Madhapur, owned by Nagarjuna, has been a popular venue among Hyderabad's elite, hosting numerous high-profile events and weddings. Its sudden demolition has not only surprised Nagarjuna but also sparked discussions among the public, given the centre's prominence in the city.

Nagarjuna has stated his intention to seek legal redress, vowing to correct any misconceptions about the alleged encroachment. "We would be seeking appropriate relief from the Court in relation to the wrong actions carried out by the authorities," he said, indicating his intentions to sue HYDRA.
