Actor Naga Chaitanya has strongly condemned Telangana Forest Minister Konda Surekha for her controversial claims regarding his divorce from actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Surekha had alleged that former Telangana minister KT Rama Rao was responsible for the couple's breakup, accusing him of blackmail and drug addiction, along with other claims that sent shockwaves through the Telugu film industry.

Surekha’s statement claimed, “KTR is the reason for the divorce of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha. Many girls are getting married and leaving the film industry behind because of KTR. He became addicted to drugs, conducted rave parties, and played with their lives; blackmailed them.”

Naga Chaitanya issued a strong rebuttal, labelling the minister’s comments as “ridiculous” and “unacceptable.” In his statement, the actor clarified that his divorce was a deeply personal and mutual decision made in peace, with no external interference.

“The decision of divorce is easily one of the most painful and unfortunate life decisions one has to make. After a lot of thought, my former spouse and I made a mutual decision to part ways. It was a decision made in peace, owing to our different life goals and in the interest of moving forward with respect and dignity as two mature adults,” Naga Chaitanya stated.

He also expressed his frustration over the ongoing speculation about his personal life, saying, “There has been various and completely ridiculous gossip on the matter so far. I have remained silent all this while out of deep respect for my earlier spouse as well as my family. Today, the claim made by Minister Konda Surekha Garu is not only false, it is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable."

Naga Chaitanya emphasized the importance of respecting women and their life decisions, adding, "Women deserve to be supported and respected. Taking advantage and exploiting the personal life decisions of celebrities for the sake of sensational headlines is shameful."

Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu announced their separation in 2021 after nearly a decade of togetherness. Their split, which they described as amicable, has been the subject of much speculation since.
