A remake of the Bollywood hit Raid, which starred Ajay Devgn, Mr. Bachchan features Ravi Teja in the lead role as an honest income tax officer. The story follows him as he takes on a powerful man against all odds. This highly commercialized remake is full of punchlines, glamourous dance numbers, and all the masala elements one expects in a mass entertainer. Unfortunately, despite these efforts, Mr. Bachchan failed to make an impact at the box office, receiving mixed reviews. It remains to be seen if its fortunes change on Netflix.

While big-budget star films have struggled this season, Aay has been a surprise box office hit . This light-hearted movie revolves around three friends labelled as useless troublemakers in their village. Their carefree attitude is challenged when one of them falls for a girl from the city, adding comedic eccentricities to the plot. The film also subtly touches on caste divisions and how they influence dreams and desires, making it both entertaining and socially relevant.

Double iSmart

After the Liger debacle, director Puri Jagannadh returns with Double iSmart, a sequel to his earlier hit iSmart Shankar. Unfortunately, Double iSmart, starring Ram Pothineni, has been another setback for Puri. Panned by critics and rejected by audiences, the film had a disastrous theatrical run, leading to its early digital release. Despite high expectations, it’s another mass entertainer that missed the mark.'
