Mission Majnu trailer reminds fans of Raazi, but Sidharth Malhotra has left us with high hopes as an undercover spy

The upcoming film Mission Majnu follows the story of a man from India who heads to Pakistan to investigate as an undercover agent. While Sidharth Malhotra will be seen as the spy in this action thriller, Rashmika Mandanna will portray his on-screen wife who is blind. The much awaited trailer of the film was finally dropped by the makers today and while it does seem interesting, many netizens were reminded of Alia Bhatt ’s 2018 super hit Raazi after watching it. It featured Alia as an undercover spy from India, married into a family of military officers in Pakistan.

Fans are drawing comparisons between Raazi and Mission Majnu, but the trailer has definitely impressed many. This is because Sidharth’s performance as an undercover spy seems promising, and so does his on-screen chemistry with Rashmika who looks refreshing. The trailer has also given us a glimpse of the actor’s action sequences, which are delightful to watch. It will be fun to see Sidharth as RAW field officer Amandeep Ajitpal Singh as he uses his intelligence to neutralize Pakistan's nuclear facility before they attack India in the film. In 2021, Sidharth left us in awe with his spectacular performance in Shershaah, which emerged to be his career’s best and most versatile work till date. Well, Mission Majnu also has a strong patriotic vibe like Shershaah, which somehow makes us want to believe that Sidharth will surprise us with his performance once again and win hearts. We can’t wait to see him exceed expectations when Mission Majnu arrives on streaming giant Netflix on 20th January. This marks South sensation Rashmika’s second Hindi film. She made her Bollywood debut with Amitabh Bachchan’s Goodbye last year.
