Missed Valliettan's re-release in theatres? Mammootty's action drama in 4K to stream on OTT too

The trend of re-releases really caught up last year with several yesteryear classics returning to the cinema halls with remastered versions. Mammootty’s 2000 film, Valliettan, too re-released in theatres in remastered 4K format. Well, if you missed watching the megastar’s action movie in the theatres, we have news for you that the remastered film will be available for streaming on Manorama Max. 

Valliettan on Manorama Max

Mammootty-starrer Valliettan, directed by Shaji Kailas, will be available for streaming on Manorama Max from February 7, 2025, in 4K Dolby Atmos. This allows fans from outside Kerala to enjoy the Malayalam film in high quality. You can also watch the film on OTTplay Premium. 

Valliettan cast and plot

Valliettan belongs to the genre of films in Malayalam that celebrate the alpha male hero. Mammootty stars as Arakkal Madhavanunni aka the titular Valliettan (meaning big brother). He rules over his family of four brothers, for whom his word is the last. 

The film, penned by Ranjith, tracks the rivalry between Arackal Madhavanunni and his uncle Patteri Kuttikrishnan Nair and his son, Sivaraman Nair. 

Sai Kumar played the role of the main villain Patteri Sivaraman Nair. Siddique, Manoj K Jayan, Sudheesh, and Vijayakumar appear in the roles of Valiettan’s younger brother. 

Shobana plays the leading lady as Madhavanunni's wife Devi. NF Varghese, Innocent, Kalabhavan Mani, Sukumari and Bheeman Raghu play other key supportive roles.
