Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule was released on December 5, 2024, and since then, the film has been enjoying an unstoppable run at the box office. Directed by Sukumar, the film has managed to break all the records set by previously released films across all languages. However, a section of people have been slamming the film for its content and for taking over theatres leaving no space for other films. Recently, actor Siddharth, who recently got married to Aditi Rao Hydari, took a jibe at Pushpa 2's Patna event and called it a 'crowd-pulling gimmick'. Now, singer Mika Singh has reacted to it and called out the actor on social media.
Mika Singh hits back at Siddharth
Mika Singh, who is popular for several songs like Jhumme Ki Raat, Sawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag, and 440 Volt among others, took to his Instagram story and took a dig at Siddharth for his recent comment on Pushpa 2. He wrote in Hindi, "Hello Siddharth bhai, aapke iss comment pe ek baat achi ho gayi hai ke aaj se logo ko thoda bohot aapka naam pata chal gaya hai, socho abhi tak toh mujhe bhi nahi pata ki aap kya karte hain." It loosely translates to, "Hello Siddharth brother, one good thing about your comment is that from today, people have started to know your name a little bit. Just think, I didn't even know what you do until now!" Have a look:
What did Siddharth say about Pushpa 2's Patna event?
Siddharth is currently busy promoting his upcoming film, Miss You. While speaking to Madan Gowri during a podcast, the actor was asked about the grand event of Pushpa 2 that took place in Patna before it was released. He said, "It is all marketing. Honestly, in our country, it is not tough to pool in crowds. For instance, if you are going to have four JCBs in an area to do some construction, you will have people gathering just to witness it. They [the team] booked a ground and organised an event. People came to watch. That’s all. In India, crowds don’t reflect quality."
Siddharth even compared film promotions to political rallies, arguing that large gatherings don’t necessarily indicate genuine success. He added, “Every political party in India can usher in huge crowds for their meetings, but it doesn’t mean they win every election. Back in my time, we used to call these crowds Biriyani and quarter bottle (alcohol)."
Siddharth's comments have not gone well with Allu Arjun's fans. He is being trolled online for making such remarks.
Meanwhile, Pushpa 2: The Rule also stars Fahadh Faasil in an important role. The film is all set to enter the Rs 1000 crore club soon.
