Directed by 96-fame director Prem Kumar, the film, which garnered huge appreciation for its poignant storytelling and impressive performances, is arriving soon on a streaming platform.

Meiyazhagan to stream on Netflix on THIS date

Netflix, which has purchased the streaming rights, announced on its official site that Meiyazhagan will be available for streaming starting October 27, 2024, this Sunday. Fans who have been eagerly awaiting an update on the film’s OTT release date can now sit back and enjoy this touching story of two cousins over the Diwali weekend!

What is Meiyazhagan all about?

Directed by the beloved filmmaker Prem Kumar, who captivated audiences with his 2018 romantic drama 96, the film marks an impressive comeback of the director after six years to Kollywood. Meiyazhagan follows Arulmozhi, who returns to his hometown after 22 years and reconnects with his chirpy cousin Meiyazhagan. Together, they reminisce about the lost time. Besides the lead cast, the film also boasts a talented supporting cast that includes Rajkiran, Sri Divya, Devadarshini, Jayaprakash, Sriranjani, Ilavarasu, Karunakaran, and Saran Shakthi in key roles.

Although the film received a positive reception, the makers trimmed approximately 18 minutes from the original cut following feedback about its length. However, this decision did not sit well with some fans who preferred the original version.
