Mammootty and Mohanlal
After much anticipation, the makers of the most awaited project by the three M’s—Mammootty, Mohanlal, and filmmaker Mahesh Narayanan—have begun filming in Sri Lanka. Touted as one of the biggest projects in Mollywood, MegaStar 429 (as it is tentatively titled) also features Mohanlal in a pivotal role.
According to the latest reports, Mammootty has joined the sets in Sri Lanka, with a picture from the location—a beach in Sri Lanka—circulating on social media, confirming speculation that the team has indeed started shooting in the country.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mahesh Narayanan, the upcoming film will be shot in multiple locations, including Kerala, London, and New Delhi. Sources reveal that Mammootty has allotted 130 days to shoot his portions in the film, while Mohanlal has scheduled 30 days for his scenes.
In addition to Mammootty and Mohanlal, the film will also feature Kunchacko Boban in a pivotal role. Interestingly, the film marks the reunion of the three stars after their 1998 movie Harikrishnans, which starred Mammootty and Mohanlal alongside Kunchacko Boban in a key role.
Earlier, Mohanlal was spotted at the airport, sparking rumors of him joining the sets in Sri Lanka. These reports have further heightened anticipation for the project. More updates about the film are expected to be announced soon.
Mammootty and Mohanlal's reunion
For context, the upcoming Mahesh Narayanan film will reunite the superstars of Mollywood—Mammootty and Mohanlal—after a long time. The iconic duo, who have shared screen space in over 50 films, are poised to create box office rampage once again. Their last on-screen collaboration was in the 2013 movie Kadal Kadannoru Mathukutty, where Mohanlal made a cameo appearance.
According to sources, the filmmakers are planning to incorporate de-aging technology to portray flashback sequences, featuring younger versions of both Mammootty and Mohanlal in the film.
