The movie is currently in pre-production and Nic Pizzolatto will be reworking a draft for the movie written by Michael Starrbury.
The project went through multiple delays but finally found its bearing when Helmer Yann Demange known for his work on the HBO Max series Lovecraft Country to over as director.
Later inside sources revealed that the reason why the project was delayed was due to both Marvel Studio head Kevin Feige and the star of the upcoming reboot Mahershala Ali being disappointed in the script of the movie.
There is a strong possibility this will be the second R-rated MCU movie after Deadpool 3. Considering the violent nature of the source material an R-rated version of Blade would make more sense.
