Director Mari Selvaraj has delivered some of the most thought-provoking and fascinating stories through his films Pariyerum Perumal and Maamannan, making audiences fall in love with his filmmaking journey. The director, who is currently occupied with filming Dhruv Vikram’s sports drama Bison, is in talks to make a film with yet another popular Tamil star. 

Mari Selvaraj to collaborate with Karthi

According to the latest reports, the director will be collaborating with actor Karthi for his next project. Although this news had been circulating on social media for a couple of months, the director recently confirmed the speculation in an interview. Reportedly, he will direct Karthi after wrapping up his current project with Dhruv Vikram. Although the director refrained from sharing more details about the project, fans are excited to see what it will be about. 

Additionally, the director spoke about a potential project with none other than superstar Rajinikanth. He revealed that Rajinikanth liked his 'working style' and is confident that the project will happen very soon.

Meanwhile, the director’s ongoing project Bison with Dhruv Vikram is currently under production. The movie also stars Anupama Parameswaran as the female lead opposite Dhruv Vikram, along with Rajisha Vijayan, Lal, Pasupathy, Kalaiyarasan, Hari Krishnan, Azhagam Perumal, and Aruvi Madhan in other prominent roles. The movie is jointly bankrolled by Applause Entertainment and director Pa Ranjith’s home banner, Neelam Studio.

On the other hand, Karthi, who has a bunch of exciting projects in the pipeline, is currently filming the much-awaited sequel spy thriller Sardar 2. His upcoming film Mei Azhagan is scheduled to hit the big screens on September 27, 2024. The Tamil actor will also be seen in numerous exciting projects, including Lokesh Kanagaraj’s directorial Kaithi 2, which is likely to go on floors next year. He will also appear in other sequels of his previous films, such as H. Vinoth’s Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru 2 and Nalan Kumarasamy’s Vaa Vaathiyaare, among others.
