Marco Teaser OUT: Unni Mukundan impresses as a merciless gangster in this crime thriller

The wait is over! The teaser of Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan’s most anticipated film, Marco, is here. The makers of the upcoming crime action thriller unveiled a vicious glimpse of Unni Mukundan’s character, Marco on social media. Directed by Haneef Adeni, the film is being made on a massive scale, making it the highest-budget project in Unni Mukundan's career.

The explosive teaser begins with a voiceover asking, “Do you know who haunts us the most in our life?” The speaker then answers, “It’s when our beloved ones are lost in pain right before our eyes.” The teaser then takes us into the gruesome world of gore and violence—Marco’s world—where there is no sympathy or second thoughts as he mercilessly slays anyone who hurts him or his loved ones. Unni Mukundan stuns audiences with his menacing avatar, accompanied by various other stars, including Jagadeesh, Siddique, and others in intense roles. The video gives us a glimpse into the world of Marco and his vicious activities. Overall, the makers have crafted a treat for action lovers, and it's something that Malayali audiences are sure to experience on the big screen soon!

For the unversed, the crime thriller Marco is a spin-off of the 2019 Nivin Pauly-starrer Mikhael. It is also said to be the first Indian film to feature a villain making a comeback as a hero in a spin-off.

Directed by Haneef Adeni, Marco will see Unni Mukundan reprising his role as Marco Jr., a cold-blooded gangster. While Nivin Pauly’s Mikhael revolves around his character trying to save his sister from an attack by Marco’s brother, the ruthless villain Marco Jr. seeks vengeance for his brother’s death.

Besides Unni Mukundan, the film will feature Abhimanyu Shammy Thilakan, the grandson of legendary actor Thilakan and the son of Shammi Thilakan, along with Siddique, Jagadish, Anson Paul, and Kabir Duhan Singh in key roles. Yukti Thareja will play the female lead. On the technical front, cinematography is handled by Chandru Selvaraj, and the movie is produced by Sharif Muhammad and Abdul Ghadaf under the banners of Cubes Entertainments, in association with Unni Mukundan Films. KGF composer Ravi Basrur has provided a terrific background score and soundtrack for the film.
