Marco: First-look poster of Unni Mukundan-starrer to be out on THIS date

The exciting update is here! The first-look poster of Unni Mukundan-starrer Marco is all set to be released on June 16, 2024. Directed by Haneef Adeni, the upcoming film will see Unni Mukundan playing a ruthless villain in Marco, which is the spin-off of Nivin Pauly’s film Mikhael.

The makers of the film took to their social media handles to share the interesting update and wrote, “Caution, Carnage ahead. Mark your calendars on June 16th for the First Look Poster!” The announcement poster featured a monochromatic image of a hand holding a golden cigar. The announcement poster itself has piqued the interest of the audiences who can't wait to witness the menacing villain’s avatar from the upcoming crime thriller.

All you need to know about Marco

Unni will reprise his role as Marco Jr, a cold-blooded gangster, in the new crime thriller movie. For the unversed, Mikhael revolves around Nivin’s character, who tries to save his sister from a revenge attack. The ruthless villain, Marco Jr, seeks vengeance for his brother’s death. The upcoming film is said to be made on a massive scale, making it the highest-budget film in Unni Mukundan's career.  

The earlier released posters of Unni from Marco revealed the actor with a violent look, smoking a cigar and sitting in a throne-like chair. The terrific poster was shared along with a banger of a background score by KGF's composer Ravi Basrur. Incidentally, Marco is the first Indian film to have a villain make a comeback as a hero in a spin-off.

Marco: A Rolex connection?

From the earlier shared posters and glimpses, it is evident that the makers are aiming to deliver a menacing and ruthless villain, similar to Suriya’s character, Rolex, in Vikram. Like Rolex, Marco is also a violent man driven by revenge. The posters and glimpses reveal many similarities between the two characters. However, unlike Rolex, Marco is described by Unni Mukundan as an ‘unapologetically honest and brutal’ antagonist. The actor also promised that Marco would stand out from the villains we have seen before.
