Maniyan Chittappan: Suresh Gopi enters the sci-fi universe of Gaganachari | Check out first look poster

Following the positive responses for the latest Malayalam sci-fi mockumentary Gaganachari, the makers of the film are now all set to cash in on the success by creating Mollywood’s very own sci-fi universe! Yes, you read that right. The makers recently took to their social media handles to announce that Malayalam star Suresh Gopi will be joining the sci-fi universe. They unveiled the title of the new film from the franchise which will have Suresh Gopi playing the titular role – Maniyan Chittappan.

The first-look poster of Suresh Gopi from the upcoming sci-fi drama reveals an interesting avatar of the actor-turned-politician. The motion poster features the actor donning a thick beard, while sporting a camo green attire.

The new look hints at a crazy drama the actor promises to deliver as rightly described in the caption: “Here's a small surprise to all...Wanderer of the cosmos, crazy mad scientist of Gaganachari universe. Here's "MANIYAN CHITTAPPAN "Stay tuned!”  

Reportedly, Suresh Gopi’s character Maniyan Chittappan is set to be a brilliant scientist who is also an alcoholic. 

Many fans who loved the actor’s new look, compared the new avatar with his cult classic character 'Minnal Prathapan' from Mammootty-starrer 1988 film Manu Uncle.

Gaganachari universe

Arun Chandu, who helmed Gaganachari, will be directing the new film, starring Suresh Gopi. The upcoming film will be part of the same universe as Gaganachari, the dystopian sci-fi mockumentary, which released last week.  

Interestingly, Gaganachari, also starred Suresh Gopi's son Gokul Suresh, while the rest of the star cast included Ganesh Kumar, Anarkali Marikar and Aju Varghese. The film received positive responses for its unique approach to narrating an alien invasion in a dystopian state. The movie depicts the comedic chaos that ensues after a female extraterrestrial, who is on the run, turns up at an apartment of three bachelors. More details about the new film will be disclosed soon.
