Mammootty' role in Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Malayalam film revealed? All the details are here...

When Gautham Vasudev Menon announced that he was working on his first Malayalam movies as a director and that Mammootty was starring in it, fans were excited about the dream collaboration. Recently, the makers announced that they had begun shooting and that the film has officially been launched. 

Although the makers have yet to disclose key details about the project, close sources have revealed superstar Mammootty’s role in the film. Apparently, the film is an investigative thriller with comic elements and Mammootty plays a private investigator, who is something like Sherlock Holmes.

While such roles are not new for Mammootty, as he has delivered several blockbuster films in the genre, fans are eager to see how the Tamil director will craft the narrative to suit Mammootty.

Despite being a Malayali, Gautham Vasudev Menon has never directed a Malayalam film before. However, the popular director is known for having Kerala references in his movies through his characters or stories.

Is Samantha playing the female lead in Mammootty-GVM's film?

According to reports, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has been in talks to play the female lead in Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Malayalam movie. Reports suggest that the actress has replaced Nayanthara, who was initially cast opposite Mammootty. However, an official confirmation from the team about this is awaited.

Mammootty-GVM other collaborations

Directed by GVM, the yet-to-be-titled project is bankrolled by Mammootty’s home banner, Mammootty Kampany. This collaboration is not surprising as Gautham Vasudev Menon and Mammootty are currently working together on the action flick Bazooka, where Gautham shares screen space with Mammootty as an antagonist named Benjamin Joshua.
