Mammootty-GVM film is titled Dominic and The Ladies' purse! first-look poster OUT

Happy Birthday, Mammootty! After teasing the audience with exciting updates, the makers of director Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Malayalam directorial debut have finally revealed the title - Dominic and The Ladies' Purse! The team of the upcoming Mammootty-starrer took to their social media pages to unveil the title and first-look poster on the Malayalam megastar’s 73rd birthday. Produced by Mammootty’s home banner, Mammootty Kompany, this marks Gautham Vasudev Menon’s first Malayalam directorial venture and his second collaboration with the Malayalam megastar, after Bazooka.

 The first-look poster features Mammootty in a white robe, holding a brown purse in one hand. The actor looks chic as always, sporting a beard in a slightly older avatar. Wearing regular slippers, the actor is seen in a messy room, with a grey cat following him and several papers scattered on the floor. Interestingly, in the center of the room, one can see a pinboard with photos of various people attached, connected by red strings and sticky notes. The wall also contains movie posters, and a black bag lies in the center of the room. This intriguing poster and title have excited the audience, who can't wait to see what Gautham Vasudev Menon has in store for his Malayalam fans.

Earlier reports suggested that the film is touted to be an investigative thriller with comic elements, where Mammootty plays a private investigator, drawing inspiration from Sherlock Holmes. While such roles are not new to the megastar, who has delivered several blockbuster films in this genre (such as the CBI series), fans are eager to see how the Tamil director will craft the story to suit Mammootty. An official update on the plotline is still awaited. 

Who is the female lead in the Mammootty film?

While there were several rumors about a prominent actress from the South being roped in to play the female lead, no official information has been made by the makers so far. Earlier reports suggested that either Nayanthara or Samantha Ruth Prabhu had been in talks for the role, but an official confirmation is still awaited.
